It's a new week, which means a brand new sale has hit the PlayStation Store on Aug. 29. Let us see if there is anything included worth anyone's time.

'Far Cry' sale

Ubisoft has launched a "Far Cry" sale for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 games available. Pretty much every game in the franchise is included, although the prices are nothing to write home about.

Focusing on the current generation, buying "Far Cry 4" and "Far Cry Primal" together will cost you $34.99. If you were to buy them separately, the total price would be $34.79, as the former is $14.79 and the latter $19.99.

So, of course, ignore the bundle as it is, in reality, more expensive.

These type of deals tend to happen quite often in the store, where a bundle would somehow end up more expensive than buying the individual games. If you are new to the series and want to dip your toes in, we recommend buying "Far Cry 4". It is better than "Primal" and cheaper. The main criticism against the fourth entry in the franchise was that it barely changed anything from the third game. This complaint is entirely valid, but it is still a fun open world FPS and an easy recommendation, especially for someone who has not played "Far Cry 3".

Speaking of "Far Cry 3", the ultimate edition is $9.99 on the PlayStation 3. It is a decent price, although it is not exactly cheap either.

The game holds up very well, and it is the best in the series, so it is worth the price of admission. Avoid the first two games, not because they are terrible, but they are nowhere near as good as the later titles.

PlayStation Plus specials

As always, there is a slew of discounts available for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Although most people are waiting for Sony to reveal the free games for September, it is worth taking a look at some of this week's sales.

"DiRT 4" is available for $41.99, a decent price for a well-made racing game. "Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2" can be picked up at the discounted price of $29.99, which is not a huge sale for the fantastic fighting game. It is worth the price simply because it is such a great game, but it is bound to be cheaper sooner rather than later.

"Yooka-Laylee" is $27.99, which is still a bit high for the old school platformer. It is one of those games which you will either love or hate, as it can be a blast to play through but suffers from some rather obvious flaws. "Mafia III" is also available for less than $30, and the "Season Pass" is also on sale.

Finally, "Rainbow Six Siege" is on sale at $24.99. Multiplayer fans should find a lot to enjoy here, even though it is starting to wind down.
