Overwatch” usually tries its best to hide any surprises it has in store, but data miners usually find a way to uncover future data. In line with this, the Summer Games 2017 was heavily data-mined before Blizzard even announced it, which may have spoiled the surprise for some. Another case was the Twitch Prime loot box which many believed was going to be the new design for the Summer Games theme. In line with this, “Overwatch” data miners have stumbled across yet another interesting voice line which hints at another map coming to the game.

Welcome to... Junkertown?

The data miners are back at it again, this time digging into the other parts of the game. Tumblr user 'aku no homu' apparently found Athena’s voice line for a new map that links to Roadhog and Junkrat. Aart from being Winston’s AI, Athena is also the announcer for the game. These voice lines revolve around three maps which will most likely be featured in the Deathmatch mode seeing as how Château Guillard was mentioned. Aside from Widowmaker’s estate, Athena also mentioned Lijiang Control Tower which is something all “Overwatch” players know about. The third map she mentions is Junkertown which is an important location in the game, however, Blizzard has yet to announce this as an official stage.

Lorewatch

From what we know, Junkertown seems to be one of the wiped off areas in the Australian map. During the omnic crisis, a dangerous radiation explosion that took place in the area which basically formed the Australian Outback where Roadhog and Junkrat are from. Needless to say, the area is extremely dangerous and filled with plenty of dangerous people.

The radiation affected both of the said characters who became notorious criminals. While we haven’t actually seen what the Australian Outback looks like, it seems like Junkertown might be our first visit to the area.

There’s plenty of potentials that Blizzard can work with when it comes to creating an Australian omnium map. If Junkertown isn’t limited to the Deathmatch, it would be neat to get a proper payload map as we haven’t gotten one since the game launched.

With this in mind, perhaps players would be tasked with moving some dangerous materials throughout the outback that’s filled with deadly chemicals or radiation. Moreover, the location would have to be extremely messy and filled with metal scraps and the like. Blizzard has done a great job at constructing “Overwatch” maps so far, so there’s a good chance that they’ll do the same for Junkertown.
