Bundle Stars has just launched a sale consisting of Idea Factory JRPGs and other titles. Most of the available titles belong to the notorious "Hyperdimension Neptunia" franchise, which has amassed a reputation over the years for its over the top fanservice. As there are a few deals worth noting, let's go through the collection and see what is worth time and money.
'Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls' is on sale for a limited time
The latest entry into the Neptunia catalog is on sale for less than 24 hours for $14.99, half its usual price.
Despite not being considered a mainstream entry into the franchise, this spin off continues the core objective of the series, which is to mock the gaming industry. The gameplay lacks some of the variety of the mainline entries, as there is a severe lack of combos for each character, but introduces a few new cast members.
'Fairy Fencer F: Dark Advent' for less than $10
If someone were to ask which idea factory game is the best place to start for newcomers? The answer would be "Fairy Fencer F: Dark Advent", as it combines the typical addictive gameplay mechanics found in most of their other titles with a genuinely interesting and darker storyline. "Dark Advent" refers to the re-release of the original "Fairy Fencer F" game, which is also on sale, and adds a whole new timeline to the previous installment.
It deals with time travel, ancient gods and incorporates a fantastic card based level up system that adds an added element to the gameplay.
Is 'Megadimension Neptunia: VII' worth $13.99?
"Megadimension Neptunia: VII" is currently the most recent entry into the main "Neptunia" franchise. The English version has been around since February 2016, and its standard price on Steam is $39.99.
Therefore, this is a relatively impressive sale for one of the best games Idea Factory have ever released.
Those who have played one of the titles before, especially the remakes that were released during the PlayStation 3 era, will not find anything particularly surprising or unique about "Megadimension Neptunia: VII". The slight issue is that this is a game that is often put on sale, so the $13.99 price tag is far from a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Best of the rest
Since this is for PC, no sale would be complete without including "Fallout 4", "Doom" and "Elder Scrolls: Online". Each of these three titles are available on Bundle Stars and are worth playing if you happen to be a fan of the franchises.
