After weeks of teasing fans about the upcoming expansion for its highly popular free-to-play collectible card video game, "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft," Blizzard has finally now revealed all of the cards that will be coming out with its release. The developer also announced during its recently held final card reveal stream the official release date for the expansion, titled "Knights of the Frozen Throne," which will be on Aug. 10.

A lot of cool new cards

The upcoming Expansion Pack will be introducing a total of 135 new cards to the game, which will include new hero cards, minions, and spells.

Some of the cards are relatively normal in terms of their abilities and stats, but there are some exceptional ones that will likely change the way the game is played moving forward.

Powerful spells and minions

The card "Uther of the Ebon Blade" for example introduces a new alternate win condition, wherein a player may end the game early if he or she is able to use the card's Hero Power four times. Meanwhile, the card "Gnomeferatu" let players force their enemy to destroy a card on the top of their deck. Another card that possesses a truly insane ability is the "Ultimate Infestation" card that deals damage to the opponent, lets the player draw five cards, and summon a 5/5 Ghoul all in one go.

Mixing it up

Aside from the cool new cards, the game also introduces a brand new Lifesteal mechanic, which will undoubtedly change the way players utilize their minions and spells during battles. The new mechanic and the slew of brand new cards should provide enough of a change to keep veteran players engaged as well as invite new players to the world of Northrend.

Along with the 135 new cards, the expansion will be coming with eight new playable missions that will be available for free for all players. However, to get access to the new cards, most players will likely have to fork out a bit of money to purchase the game's new booster packs. The booster packs cost $50 and contain 50 packs each.

The "Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne" expansion will become available on all platforms, namely on Android, iOS, Windows PC, and macOS. The game will still feature cross -platform play, which means that players on different devices will all be able to compete with each other and try out the new cards when the expansion arrives this week.
