On August 21, Square Enix announced at the Gamescom 2017 the release of “Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition.” This is the PC version of the popular RPG that has been long-awaited by gamers.

Since its launch on consoles, there have been speculations circulating that the fifteenth major installment of the popular FF franchise will be released on PC. Several months ago, during the Nvidia tech test, game developer Square Enix even hinted at a potential PC release of the popular open-world RPG. Even though no official confirmations were made in the previous months, fans are hoping that it will be made available for the platform.

The waiting game is finally over as the game developer announced that it will release the PC version of the game dubbed the “Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition.” The game will be available in the early part of 2018 although no definite timeline has been revealed yet. This version will contain all the free updates that have been released. In addition, all the downloadable contents that PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users now enjoy will also be available when the latest version of the game releases.

The latest PC version of the popular RPG will have support for HDR and 4K displays. Square Enix executive Hajime Tabata described the upcoming version as the highest quality and most beautiful version.

According to him, this version was made with the latest version of the luminous game engine and uses some Nvidia tech as well. The executive added that elements in the game such as smoke, shadows, hair, light, and even grass will look better than they do on the PS4 and Xbox One.

The game has the Nvidia Ansel photography technology, which enhances in-game pictures that will benefit those who like to take a lot of photos of Prompt and the rest of the squad.

The upcoming version of the game will be available via Origin, Steam, and Windows Store launch. The game developer has not yet revealed the price, the minimum system requirements nor the size of the whole game. However, there are speculations that the PC version will consume up to 170GB of hard drive space. With the graphics improvements and Nvidia’s technology making the game version beautiful, it will definitely consume massive space.
