It's about the all new "Red Dead Redemption 2" coming to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles in 2018, but not all fans are excited about the game. According to Stuart Heritage of The Guardian, it's possible that the sequel will be a disappointment as there's no way you can improve the already top of the line, the original game "Red Dead Redemption." In his article, he even mentioned how the original game is one of the "greatest moments in the history of interactive gaming."

But a new spoiler also came out for the Western action-adventure game. Apparently, the new character will be portrayed by the son of the original character on Red Dead Redemption.

Unfortunately, the story concept will fall on the same revengeful renegade, but the difference is that the sequel will likely save the character. It will be the same story of killing someone who killed your father, but with less assurance that you will ever live a normal life again.

Rockstar's story concept

There's no doubt, the original game provided good memories for players. This was backed by the fact that the game became one of the most anticipated games on the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. Meanwhile, the news about the "Red Dead Redemption 2" being delayed disappointed fans. The game, which was supposed to be released this year was moved to 2018, something that Ubisoft, another game developer appreciated.

According to Gamezone, the absence of the Red Dead sequel this year boosted Ubisoft's fiscal year. In a rare admission from Ubisoft's CFO Alain Martinez, he said, it gave them more window to launch their games without having to compete with the much-anticipated game. Also brought by the delay is Ubisoft's expectation of a massive 34 percent increase in their 2nd quarter sales.

Why is the sequel delayed?

Meanwhile, news suggested that one of the reasons why the sequel was delayed is because of Rockstar prioritizing the "GTA Online" game. Last year, the GTA title garnered massive players after the developer added a new DLC and some improvements to the game. The success of the "GTA Online" update also shut down rumors that Rockstar is already making "GTA 6." Analysts reveal it would be impossible to create a new game when the former is still generating millions of income for the developer.

Rockstar has not released the exact release date of "Red Dead Redemption 2," but it's confirmed to arrive sometime in 2018. By the time it arrives, the all new Xbox One X console has been launched and ready to take the game.
