In line with its previous announcement of providing more events for its highly popular augmented reality video game, "Pokémon Go," Niantic Labs is now reportedly preparing for yet another Event this month. While the company has yet to reveal the new event for June officially, new reports have claimed that its details have now apparently been leaked.

Event details

The game's upcoming event, called "Fire And Ice," was leaked on the "Pokémon Go" fan page, Team Eveelution. According to the post on the website, the event will be held to commemorate the upcoming solstice, hence its "Fire and Ice" theme.

The solstice will mark the beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, while also marking the beginning of winter in the Southern Hemisphere.

Similar to previous events, the upcoming "Fire and Ice" event will be focusing on certain types of Pokémon. However, this will be the first time that an event will be focusing on two different kinds, namely Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon.

Increased spawn rates

As with other events, spawn rates for certain type of Pokémon will be greatly increased across the globe. Fire-type Pokémon such as Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Vulpix, Houndour, and Ponyta will be appearing more frequently, while Ice-type Pokémon such as Dewgong, Cloyster, Jynx, Lapras, and Sneasel will also have increased spawn rates.

While some of the Pokémon that will be included in the event are quite common, a few Pokémon such as Charmander and Cyndaquil's evolutions will be quite valuable. It also goes without saying that encountering more Lapras in the wild will be a welcomed change for most players, especially those that have been trying to gather enough candy to make their Lapras stronger.

Other bonuses and discounts

Aside from the increased spawn rates for Fire and Ice-type Pokémon, players will also be getting big experience bonuses for performing certain tasks. During the event, players will earn Double Experience for achieving certain Pokéball throws. Basically, performing a Nice, Great, or Excellent Poke Ball throw, catching a Pokémon on the first Pokéball throw, or catching a Pokémon with a curve ball, will award users with double experience.

Additionally, hatching eggs during the event will also grant players an added experience bonus.

The "Pokémon Go" Fire and Ice event will reportedly be taking place from June 13 to June 20. The event will then be followed by a larger "Birthday Event" on July to celebrate the game's first year anniversary.
