After the NES Classic Edition completely sold out until Nintendo stopped making it, the company is following up with an updated version of the Super Nintendo. The mini Super Nintendo is bundled with several classic games, such as Contra III: The Alien Wars, Donkey Kong Country, and EarthBound. According to The Verge, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition would be launched on September 29, 2017. Pricing details have not been revealed yet, but hopefully, that will come up to the game lovers expectations.

Contra III: The Alien Wars

Contra III: The Alien Wars is a 1992 video game developed by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

It is the third game of the Contra series, following Contra and Super C. Set in an imaginary year, Contra III: The Alien Wars follows several aliens that decide to launch a war against humanity, and the player has to defeat those aliens. New styles of levels involve riding on missiles, and motorcycle chases. The game comes with three levels of difficulty: Easy, Normal, and Hard.

Donkey Kong Country

Developed and published in 1994, Donkey Kong Country is a multiplayer video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Rare first released it under the name Super Donkey Kong, and then the game was upgraded for the Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Wii Virtual Console, Wii U Virtual Console, and New Nintendo 3DS with an exciting pixel mode.

The story revolves around Donkey Kong and his cousin Diddy Kong, both of them have to recover their stolen fruits from the Kremlings and King Rool.

EarthBound

EarthBound, also known as Mother 2, is a 1994 role-playing game developed and published by HAL Laboratory and Ape Inc.

The game has been created for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and the main character travels the world to collect stones. He aims to defeat the alien force Giygas, and it is the second video game of the Mother series, after EarthBound Beginnings. Amazingly, EarthBound has a lengthy development period that spanned six years, and its making involved several Japanese luminaries, such as writer Shigesato Itoi, songwriter Keiichi Suzuki, and record artist Hirokazu Tanaka.

On June 25, 2017, Nintendo announced that Final Fantasy III, Kirby Super Star, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Secret of Mana, Star Fox 2, Super Castlevania IV, and Yoshi’s Island would be included in the forthcoming Super Nintendo Classic Edition console.
