Turner has written frequently on educational issues and politics for Huffington Post and Daily Kos and has written 12 books, including Silver LIning in a Funnel Cloud; Greed, Corruption, and the Joplin Tornado, Let Teachers Teach, No Child Left Alive, and 5:41: Stories from the Joplin Tornado.
