It wasn’t too long ago in 2016-17 when Thomas averaged 28.9 points, made the All-NBA Second Team, and finished fifth in MVP voting. A hip injury shelved him for some time in the following year, and he hasn’t come close to reaching the heights of his breakout season (averaged 12.2 points for the Wizards in 2019-20).
