On Tuesday, the NBA announced their All-Rookie teams. The complete voting results can be found on NBA.com.
Center Mitchell Robinson of the New York Knicks was named to the All-Rookie Second Team. He was one of the few reasons for Knicks fans to tune in this past season after a tumultuous 17-65 season.
Here is how Mitchell Robinson and the previous 10 All-Rookie members from the Knicks fared during their rookie seasons. While New York hasn't had all that much success in recent years, they have had an All-Rookie member five of the last six seasons and seven of the last nine.
2018-19: Mitchell Robinson (Second Team)
Drafted 36th overall in 2018, Robinson proved to be quite the second round find. He finished second in the league averaging 2.4 blocks despite only averaging 20.6 minutes per contest. He also finished with averages of 7.3 points (on 69.4 percent shooting from the field) and 6.4 rebounds. Daily Knicks recently gave Robinson an A- grade for his work in the 2018-19 season.
2016-17: Willy Hernangomez (First Team)
Also a second round pick (selected 35th overall), Hernangomez recorded 11 point/rebound double-doubles during his rookie year. He started 22 of his 72 appearances and posted per game averages of 8.2 points and 7.0 rebounds.
