The Huskers finished their series against 21st ranked Baylor on Sunday and it didn't go to plan as they lost 10-3.

1

Huskers still got the series win

After the team got swept by Oregon State there was talk about the fact that the Cornhuskers still felt like they got quite a bit of confidence. If that's true, then taking two of three from the 21st ranked team in the country, on their field is going to give the team plenty of confidence.

Injury bug bites pitching staff again

A Huskers team that was ravaged by injury to the pitching staff last year has suffered its first injury of 2019. Unfortunately it was to Connor Curry, who missed all of last season after Tommy John surgery. There hasn't been word on how severe his injury this year is.

3

The bullpen is still a problem

If there is an obvious weakness for this Nebraska baseball team, it's their bullpen. That showed up again on Sunday. The Huskers were actually leading 3-2 after three innings but then Curry had to leave. In stepped Reece Eddins and the game was over. He pitched 1.1 innings and allowed six runs. That was the ball game.

4

Lack of power is a problem

The Huskers have managed to impress with timely hitting but the team has a distinct lack of power. In 13 games this season, they've hit three home runs. Those were all in one contest, the Friday night tilt against Baylor.

5

Luke Roskam just keeps on keeping on

Roskam might only be hitting .250 this season but he had another hit and another RBI on Sunday. The fact that he's only hitting .250 on the season makes his .429 with RISP that much more impressive.
