The end of an era is fast approaching. With rookies taking over the reins of NFL teams, we could see a lot of players retire once Super Bowl 53 is wrapped up and in the books. So many stars from the past are possibly ending their run in the NFL, while some may continue to play at an old age, others will hang it up. Some teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles have found ways to buy younger and cheaper. NFL fans were shocked when it was revealed that the 2017 season was the final season for Jason Witten.

Adam Vinatieri

The oldest player in the NFL is Adam Vinatieri, who appears to be nearing the end of his lengthy NFL career. Vinatieri inked a one-year deal with the Colts, during the offseason. It appears Vinatieri wanted to come back for one more season in hopes that Andrew Luck could bring the Colts back to the playoffs. Currently the Colts are riding high in the playoffs, thanks to their manhandling of the Houston Texans.

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson should have retired a few years ago, but he managed to put together good numbers this season as part of the Washington Redskins running game. His power has slowed down over the years, he's no longer the player he was when he started out with the Minnesota Vikings.
