The list of the five quarterbacks with the most passing yards this season reads like a who's who of the best on the field. Surprisingly, the man guiding the top seed in the NFC is not on the list. Also, two of the five QBs won't be in the postseason this time around. Nonetheless, here are the five players who racked up the most yards by air.
Ben Roethlisberger - Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben led the league in yards this past season with 5,129. Unfortunately, his 9-6 Steelers just missed out on a playoff spot this season. It's going to be strange watching a postseason without Roethlisberger and the Steelers.
Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs
The odds-on-favorite to win the NFL MVP is Mahomes. His Chiefs are headed into the playoffs as the AFC's top overall seed. Mahomes tallied 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns this season.
Matt Ryan - Atlanta Falcons
Ryan is the second quarterback of the five listed who won't participate in the playoffs. However, he had 4,924 yards passing for the Atlanta Falcons in a mediocre season.
Jared Goff - Los Angeles Rams
Jared Goff and the LA Rams are headed into the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Goff threw for 4,688 yards and 32 touchdowns in their season.
Andrew Luck - Indianapolis Colts
In the Sunday Night Football game for Week 17, Andrew Luck had 285 yards and three touchdowns in a must-win game against the Titans. For the season, he tallied 4,593 yards and 39 touchdowns. Now he and the Colts are a dangerous Wild Card team in the AFC.
