In 2018, the film "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" captured the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Drama category. Here are the five films nominated for the 2019 award.

1

Black Panther

Marvel's superhero films have achieved plenty of success, but not quite like this. Until "Avengers: Infinity War" came along, this one had people talking not only about how much money it made, but about how great a film it was. It now has a chance to claim the drama award as first superhero film to do so.

2

BlacKkKlansman

This one gets into the category but can also be considered a comedy. It's the latest from Spike Lee and stars Adam Driver, as well as Topher Grace, and Denzel's son, John David Washington. "BlacKkKlansman" is about an African American Colorado Springs police detective trying to bring down the local Ku Klux Klan chapter.
