The top five richest celebrities in America for 2018 come from a variety of walks of life. They range from movie directors to former star athletes to musicians and reality TV entrepreneurs. They hold a combined net worth of over $15 billion. Below are the five celebs leading the way in 2018.
George Lucas
The American filmmaker is well known for bringing the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises to life on the big screen. Years later, Spielberg's Star Wars films are now under Disney's ownership for future installments, but Lucas still grabs a cut, as well as massive royalties from his previous works. Lucas is worth an estimated $5.4 billion.

Steven Spielberg
It's only natural that the man who helped bring the Indiana Jones films to life is also on this list. In addition to that series, Spielberg has plenty of other hits, including award-nominated films. He won Best Director for 1994's "Schindler's List" and 1999's "Saving Private Ryan." His film "The Post" was nominated in 2018. Spielberg's worth is estimated to be $3.7 billion.

Oprah Winfrey
The 64-year-old former talk show host grew up in very humble beginning, but rose to massive success. She overtook former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, in 2014, as the "richest self-made woman in America." Oprah currently has the OWN Network, her own magazine, and other products contributing to her net worth of $2.8 billion.
After seeing #BlackPanther, @Oprah emailed Disney chief Bob Iger, saying: "Makes me tear up to think that little black children will grow up with 'Wakanda forever.' It's game-changing, it's pride-making, it's dazzling, it's phenomenal" https://t.co/e5ZQUlI0ww

Jay-Z, Kylie Jenner (tie)
Rapper Jay-Z and reality TV star/entrepreneur Kylie Jenner are tied on the list with $900 million each. Both stars are on their way to the $1 billion mark. Jay-Z has done so through albums, songs, concerts, and investment ventures in Tidal, Roc Nation, and alcohol brands. At just 21 years old, Jenner has her booming cosmetics line and other products. Which star will cross the $1 billion level first?
Fans are upset with Kylie Jenner because she tied with Jay-Z on the Forbes list.
