The Nebraska football team is firing on all cylinders as we approach the home stretch of the regular season. The Cornhuskers talked about their win over Illinois last weekend and what's ahead. Check out the best quotes from Monday's press conference.
Best nickname ever
Over the years, plenty of Huskers have gotten great nicknames, but Jerald Foster dubbing Stanley Morgan Jr. as "Captain Morgan" enters my Nebraska Football Nickname Hall of Fame.
Jerald Foster with a nickname for Stanley Morgan that I’m so upset I never thought of until now: “Captain Morgan."

Special teams still needs work
The below quote about Pickering is a less than veiled shot at punter Caleb Lightbourn. He had been handling kickoffs until a flubbed onside kick against Ohio State. Now, it appears Lightbourn is out of both jobs, as he'd already been benched from the starting punter job.
Scott Frost says Barret Pickering will continue to handle kickoff duties going forward. Why?

"We want the ball to go where it's supposed to go."
'Run the ball' guy is weirdly silent about this
One of the things that will confound Nebraska football fans, over the years, is how a player can get completely ignored for one reason or another. Ozigbo only getting 11 carries against Illinois fits the bill. The offense wasn't hurting, even without more of a contribution, which is why we can all laugh about this for now.
Frost said he's a "dumb coach" for having given the ball to Ozigbo for only 11 carries Saturday. #Huskers

Adrian Martinez gets it
Adrian Martinez has shown to be a special player, because he performs on the field. He's also growing rather rapidly into a heck of a team leader. Honoring the seniors in this program is just part of it.
Nebraska QB Adrian Martinez on #huskers seniors: “They’ve laid the foundation for what we’re about to become.” #huskers

The culture has changed
Farmer isn't happy about losing. But it's incredibly interesting to see players talking about a season that could very well end up 3-9 as the happiest they've been. It highlights just how bad the culture/attitude was the past few years.
NU senior C Tanner Farmer: "Even though this isn't the most successful season I've had, this is happiest I've ever been, this season."

Why?
"I feel like I belong somewhere. I feel like I'm accepted. I love my coaches and I feel like they love me. In fact, I know they do."
