These five NFL players came up big for their teams in Week 9 victories on November 4.

It's already Week 9 of the 2018 NFL season, and teams are continuing their push toward the postseason. On Sunday, fans saw what might have been a preview of the 2019 NFC Championship Game. The Rams fell to the Saints in their first loss of the season. In addition, "Sunday Night Football" provided that Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers matchup fans have wanted to see. Below are the five players who played the best in Sunday's victories.

Matt Ryan - Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons evened their record at 4-4 with a win over the Redskins, 38-14. Matt Ryan played especially well, completing 26-of-38 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns in today's rout.

Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs

It's just his second season, but the young Chiefs quarterback continues his push toward an MVP award. Mahomes threw for 375 yard and three touchdowns in his team's 37-21 win over Cleveland on Sunday. The Chiefs are now 8-1 for the season.

Michael Thomas - New Orleans Saints

In the anticipated NFC showdown, the New Orleans Saints won at home, 45-35. Several players came up big, including Michael Thomas. The Saints' wide receiver had 12 receptions for a whopping 211 yards and a touchdown to lead the way.

Tom Brady - New England Patriots

In a Sunday night where two of the game's best quarterbacks went at it, Tom Brady prevailed. The man some consider the G.O.A.T. of football had 294 yards and a touchdown pass in his team's 31-17 victory over the Green Bay Packers. After a rough start to the season, New England is 7-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 at home.

Cam Newton - Carolina Panthers

Sunday saw Cam Newton play another efficient game to help guide the Panthers to a home win. He completed 19-of-25 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Newton also had 33 yards rushing. The Panthers defeated Tampa Bay, 42-28, to improve to 5-0 at home.
