Blake Snell (Rays) - AL CY Young

Pitching excellence in the American League came from a pitcher on a team that failed to make the postseason. However, it's far from Snell's fault. The Tampa Bay ace had a break out season in his third year in the league and with the team. He had an impressively low 1.89 ERA, with 221 strikeouts over 180 innings pitched. Snell finished with a record of 21-5 for the season on a team that was third in the AL East behind the Yankees and Red Sox.
