On Monday, October 15, more details for "Red Dead Redemption 2" were released and there are some doozies. Check out the top 5 things we learned today.
It's 60 hours long
Even for an open world game, 60 hours is really, really long. Most open world games are in the neighborhood of 30-40 hours.
The developers cut 5 hours of content
Rockstar Games has said that while the game is 60 hours long, it could have been 65. The devs have cut what they call "superflous" content that would have made the game even longer.
It has 300,000 animations and 500,000 lines of dialogue
This makes some sense when you think about how long the game is. Those two numbers are plenty impressive when you think about the work that had to go into getting the dialogue especially.
The online content isn't complete yet
We know that the online component of "Red Dead Redemption 2" is coming a little while later. It appears the reason for that is that the story is still being worked on. This doesn't sound like polishing finished content, but still creating new content.
They'll make a third one if Red Dead Redemption 2 is successful
Rockstar has said that if this game is a success, they would certainly think about making a third one. The most interesting thing about that is, where would they go with it? "Red Dead Redemption 2" is a prequel. Would the third game be a sequel to the first, or a whole new story?
