A month after Meghan Markle's engagement to the famous Prince Harry, a list of potential designers from every big name in fashion began to submit their wedding gown sketches to her office at Kensington Palace. Surprisingly, Meghan chose Craig Keller. The design of the dress and the veil took place in two different workshops until April, when they were both united for further designs. The wedding dress was stunning and classic, and Keller felt a moment of immense pride for the work that took her about five months to accomplish. 1. The chosen fashion designer

People weren't surprised when Meghan chose Claire Waight Keller, who was appointed the first female artistic director at the house of Givenchy in 2017. Although she has been a fan of Givenchy for many years, it is possible she chose Keller as a result of her likeness and support for feminism. Nevertheless, she made perfect choice and Keller felt so honored to be a part of the historic moment.

2.The wedding dress

Apart from the Queen, who got a sneak peak of Meghan's wedding gown, Keller and her team who designed the gown, no one else knew what the gown looked like until the day of the wedding.

Meghan's wedding gown is one of the most iconic bridal gowns of all time. The gown had a sculpted waist and a six discreet seams extending towards the train at the back, and slim three-quarter length sleeves. The bridal gown was different from the ones worn by other princesses. It signified refined modernity.

3. The silk veil

The five-meter silk tulle veil took about 500 hours to be designed. Those who worked on the gown washed their hands every 30 minutes to keep the tulle and threads clean. The veil was embroidered with 53 individual flowers, which represented the 53 Commonwealth countries and two bonus flowers, Wintersweet, which grows in front of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's home at Kensington Palace, and California poppy, which is the official flower of the now Duchess of Sussex's home state.

In addition, there are crops of wheat around the flowers. This symbolizes love and charity. Also, it literally meant that 53 Commonwealth countries walked down the aisle with her.

4. The tiara

The tiara Meghan wore on her wedding day belonged to the Queen. In fact, it is one of the Queen's most favorite tiaras, which was given to the Queen by her mother, Queen Mary. Wearing the Queen's favorite tiara signified value and acceptance.
