Almost everything singer Justin Bieber does becomes news. His first post on Instagram of 2018 was posted on Saturday, January 6. It was a photo of him reading the Bible while sitting on a plane without a shirt on. Some people found it offensive that he was shirtless while others commended him for reading the Bible. Hosts on the talk shows on Monday, January 8 discussed how he looked with so many tattoos on his body and a Bible in his lap.
The 23-year-old talented Canadian singer and songwriter has not kept his religious beliefs a secret from his 94.7 million followers.
In recent years, he has described himself as a Christian. He said he communicates with God by praying. His faith is reflected in the music video, "#Pledge" with Brando Burke. Bieber was baptized on January 9, 2014 by Carl Lenz, the rock star pastor of Hillsong Church in New York.
60 tattoos
Bieber has 60 tattoos on his entire body and many of them are religious. He has a small cross under one of his eyes and a medium-sized cross along with many other tattoos on his chest. Bieber's tats were done by Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy, a New York City-based tattoo artist. The last tattoos Bieber received took McCurdy 26 hours to complete over three consecutive days. The musician doesn't mind showing them off every chance he gets.
In the photo that is causing people to talk, Justin is sitting on a plane reading the Bible shirtless as he flexes his arms.
Comments about Bieber and the Bible
Some Bieber fans do not like him having so many tattoos, and some of them didn't like seeing him reading the Bible with his shirt off. Others said they didn't find anything wrong with it.
Adrienne Houghton, co-host of "The Real," says she has read her Bible while she was naked. She said God made her and he knows what she looks like. Houghton's co-hosts Tamera Mowry-Housley, Jeannie Mai, and Loni Love agreed they saw nothing wrong with Justin being shirtless. They said at least he was reading the Bible, and it really didn't matter whether he had a shirt on or not.
Those who are complaining because Bieber was reading the Bible without a shirt on should know what Joyce Meyer once confessed. The 74-year-old Charismatic Christian speaker and author of "Joyce Meyer Ministries" said she used to read her Bible while she was smoking cigarettes. Other Christians have confessed they have read their Bible while sitting on the toilet stool. There might be other things people have done while reading the Bible.
