The New Year is finally upon us and as 2018 begins, people strive to do better in any aspect of life. Whether it be in work, health, or relationships, people are trying to be the best versions of themselves that they can be. Of course, it's not easy to find motivation, especially when one feels like he or she is in a rut. Good thing, we have our celebrity idols to look up to for great advice on how to beat the feeling of getting stuck in a rut.

One particular celebrity is the mom-to-be reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian of the famous "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" series. The reality TV star turned entrepreneur, who recently confirmed that she was indeed pregnant with her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson's child, shared on her app some great New Years' resolutions and habits to keep make sure that everyone sticks to theirs. Here's what she had to say, as told be Elite Daily.

Create realistic goals

The "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star wrote on her app that while she enjoys making goals, she makes sure that those goals aren't too unachievable or too lofty.

She wrote that the reason why she creates realistic goals is that if she fails to achieve them, she won't beat herself up too much for it.

Her advice was to create "small" goals that work towards the bigger goals. For example, you can't just go cold turkey on skipping out on unhealthy food. Take smaller steps, such as slowly incorporating more fruits and vegetables into your diet. Make fruits more accessible than chips and other junk food. Put them in a bowl on the table and stow away chips at the back of the cabinet so that it's harder to reach.

Make realistic time limits.

"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star and Good American founder Khloe Kardashian wrote on her app that when doing New Year's resolutions, it's best to "set small goals" and "never set a crazy time limit" on one's self.

This way, there's just the right amount of pressure to achieve one's goals, but not too much that you'll feel demotivated and stressed out. For example, if you'd like to lose 30 pounds over the course of a year, talk to your doctor to find out what's the realistic weight loss over a month, then set that as your small goal. This way, you're sure to keep on the right track without becoming impatient.

Reflect on the small successes.

Khloe Kardashian told US Weekly in 2016 that "The new year is a good time to reflect on the baby steps I've taken, and how I've evolved. Not everything is a f*king race—it's the marathon of life! I think it's so important to acknowledge the evolution." It's important to note that it's important to celebrate the small wins just as much as the big wins.
