Tallness is just a fact of height which is based on biological factors. Tallness can either be genetically inherited or as a result biological disorders, for hereditary it has fewer health effects compared with tallness brought up by biological disorders. Common causes of extreme tallness are over-secretion of human growth hormones. A good number of men have amazed the world for having extreme height, here is a list of some of them.
1). Robert Wadlow, (2.65m)
Robert Wadlow was an American citizen whose popularity emerged from his tallness. Due to his length, he was nicknamed Alton Giant, Alton being the name of the place he was born and raised.
He was born on February 22, 1918. Before his death, Wadlow grew to 8ft 11in (2.72m) and weighed 220 kg. Unlike other humans, his growth could not end due to a condition caused by an abnormally high level of human growth hormone.
2). John Carroll, (2.6m)
John F. Carroll was an American citizen born in Buffalo, New York. His height was 8ft 7in, as usual, this is not a normal human height, and for him, his unusual growth started at the age of 16 years and continued up until his death, according to doctors his height was caused by an abnormal imbalance in Human Growth Hormone. At some point, his height was said to increase by seven inches within a few months.
3). Sultan Kosen, (2.5m)
Sultan Kosen is a Turkish citizen whose recognition was as a result of his tall height.
His height measures 8 feet 3 inches, this was a result of a tumor that affected his pituitary gland, but luckily Kosen is among the people who benefited from modern medical techniques as doctors managed to remove the tumor completely but took two more years before the abnormal growth stopped. In his early age, he was said to work as a part-time farmer.
4). Bernard Coyne, (2.5M)
Bernard Coyne was born on July 27, 1897, in the United States. Although his history is not well known he is among the tallest men in Guinness Book of Records, his height measured 8 feet 4 inches, he suffered from a condition known as Daddy-Long-Legs, and he wore a size 25 shoe (American). He died of a disease that led to the hardening of his liver in 1921, he was buried in Anthon, Iowa.
5). Don Koehler, (2.4m)
Don was born in Denton, Montana in the USA, he had a twin sister who was also extra tall, and this was as a result of genetic factor inherited from their parents. His unusual growth was spotted when he was about 10 years. Don broke the record from 1969 to 1981 when he was the tallest man with more than 8 feet.
