Beer is the most popular Alcoholic Drink in the United States, and the industry is a fast-growing one. It counts for 85 percent of all alcoholic drinks. Beer is made in more than 3,000 breweries in the country. The breweries make all the well-known brands, and about 6.7 billion gallons are produced and sold each year. There is no shortage of beer, and consumers are celebrating it on October 27. Don't get American Beer Day confused with National Beer Day that is celebrated on April 7 or with International Beer Day that is celebrated on August 3.

Beer drinkers

It is estimated that Americans drink more than 50 billion pints of beer each year. That is enough to fill an entire residential swimming pool. They confess that there is nothing better than a cold beer after working on the car, mowing the lawn or raking leaves.

At one time, there were fewer kinds of beer in the grocery stores and people had a limited variety. Today there is an entire aisle with glass cases filled with many different kinds. Since it is America Beer Day, it is suggested that drinkers will choose an American brand to celebrate the day.

American beers

The top three beer companies in the United States include Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors, and Pabst Brewing Company. The brands include Budweiser, Bud Light, Coors Light, Corona Extra and Heineken.

Perhaps one of these is your favorite. There are many international beers on the market, but Friday isn't a day to celebrate any of them.

How to celebrate

Because October 27 is on a Friday, people might use that as a good reason to stay at the bars later than usual since they do not have to work the next day. Instead of hanging out at the bar, some people would rather stock up on beer and invite their buddies over to drink with them while they watch sports together on television at home.

Some people said they will make an adventure out of the day by visiting a brewery since there are so many of them. A quick online search will show which ones are close by.

It is a fact that not everybody loves beer. So, what are they to do while others are drinking it? They can drink whatever they want to drink. The day is to pay tribute to American beer for those who already love the alcoholic beverage.

It is not a day to recruit people to become consumers if they don't already drink it. Even those who have been drinking beer for years are encouraged to drink it responsibly rather than going overboard on American Beer Day.
