You probably had a long a day, and the moment you arrive at home, all you want to do is grab a cup of coffee or energy drink and sit on your couch. Bored with the news? Watch a movie. Even though all films are created to entertain the viewer, not all of them have real messages. Some movies are inspirational and motivating. Below are some of them.
1. 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (2006)
According to Planet of Success, life is unfair to the main character in this film. The story is based on real events in the life of Chris Gardner who was homeless for about a year.
Will Smith portrays the main character, and he experiences a combination of bad luck and twists of fate. As a result, the salesman ends up homeless and unemployed, but he doesn’t give up in his quest to find a better life for his son, who is in his custody. The film is inspirational and motivational.
2. '21' (2008)
The film was inspired by real events, according to Edsys. “21” was based on the best-selling book, “Bringing Down the House” by Ben Mezrich. A talented student enters Harvard University, and he has to showcase a different experience from other students for him to acquire a scholarship. The previous year, the scholarship was awarded to a Korean student who had no legs, and it looks like it will become hard for him to get it.
Luckily, the student meets a math teacher who notices his talent in counting and offers an unusual deal to him. The movie is an inspiration for those who struggle to impress their professors. The film stars Jim Sturgess and Kevin Spacey.
3. 'Freedom Writers' (2007)
According to i-Student Global, the film narrates an inspirational story which is based on Erin Gruwell’s success.
She was a teacher who introduced a unique teaching style that propelled a group of kids from being underachievers to academic giants. Hilary Swank plays the main role, and she becomes a woman who is single-minded and passionate. The students in her class change from who they were and they begin studying. There is one scene where Miguel reads from his diary aloud to demonstrate the power of education.
The movie is quite inspiring.
4. 'The Blind Side' (2009)
The "Blind Side" is a biography sports drama based on real events, and John Lee Hancock directed it, according to Edsys. It tells a story of Michael Oher, who was adopted by a supportive family, the Tuohys. Leigh Anne Tuohy and her spouse Sean offer Michael shelter for just a day but later extend their welcome indefinitely. Mrs. Anne Tuohys discovers Michael’s strengths and helps him realize his abilities. It helps him become a successful football player, and the family supports him despite the challenges he goes through. Sandra Bullock is the main character and plays the role of Mrs. Tuohys while Quinton Aaron plays the role of Michael. It's an inspiration to footballers.
