Fans are wondering: Is "Teen Mom 2" star Kailyn Lowry finally growing up after the birth of her third child, Lux Russell? In the baby daddy department, maybe not, but in matters of health, the MTV celebrity seems to be making better choices. After a long trip to Dr. Miami for plastic surgery, she decided to take the high road to weight loss and opt out of liposuction and another breast implant procedure.

Kailyn Lowry takes the road less traveled

Not many patients bail on "Dr. Miami" Michael Salzhauer but the "Teen Mom 2" celebrity did. Lowry took to Twitter to explain why she decided against the lipo and breast implant.

The mom of three said that the money would be better spent on a trainer and nutritionist. She wants to do weight loss the harder, but healthier way with diet and exercise. Kail also had a lot of work done already, but Reality TV fans were still impressed by her maturity, especially with all the pressure to get it.

'Teen Mom' listens to her gut

Lowry's Tweet made a lot of fans of reality television's MTV happy to see the celebrity thinking for herself. A few years ago, Kailyn let her then-baby daddy Javi Marroquin talk her into a breast implant, buttocks lift, tummy tuck and other plastic surgery. The "Teen Mom 2" star admitted in her book "Hustle & Heart" that confidence is a challenge after weight gain.

Her concerns about obesity and probably Javi sent her under the knife. However, Kailyn decided that fixing weight problems herself was a better boost to self-esteem.

Reality stars keep plastic surgeons in business

Plastic surgery is the big thing in reality shows. "Real Housewives of New Jersey," "RHOC," and "Keeping up with the Kardashians" started the craze with Kim Kardashian, mom Kris Jenner, and the sisters leading the pack.

Kardashian-West was spotted virtually unclothed recently and folks were shocked at how numerous implants and tucks had morphed Kim's body. Now Celebrities of non-glamour-based reality shows like "Teen Mom OG" are getting in on the act.

Schadenfreude shows cash-in on cosmetic surgery

Shows like "RHONY" follow folks who are wealthy or attractive while programs like "Marriage Boot Camp" or "Teen Mom OG" and "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" follow lifestyle issues.

But the plastic surgery bug has bitten them all. "Teen Mom" Farrah Abraham and Amber Portwood have had Botox, lip implants and body makeovers. "Toddlers & Tiaras" Mama June Shannon underwent a breast implant procedure and tummy tuck after bariatric surgery. Even "My 600-lb Life" gastric bypass patients have skin removal surgery after weight loss.
