Hey, "Shadowhunters" fans. We're going to see some tough times ahead for Simon. However, he will get some assistance from Maia in this new episode. Also, Clary and Jace will attempt to test the depths of their newfound rune powers at some point, and more. We got these spoilers from Freeform's new press release by way of Spoiler TV.
'Day Of Atonement'
They revealed that this episode is named "Day Of Atonement." Their official description started off by revealing the details about Simon's storyline. They say that he's going to be attending a family dinner for Yom Kippur which is the Jewish Day Of Atonement.
This will be a very challenging time for him because he will have to come clean about being a vampire. Additionally, the stress that he's experiencing could cause him to lose control of his vampire urges. Will Simon be able to pull himself together? Will he really reveal his vampire secret? Those are the huge questions for this situation. One thing's for sure is that his plotline could get pretty dramatic.
They did mention that Maia will try to help Simon out, whether he wants her help or not. Will Maia's assistance help to eliminate some of the stress that Simon is feeling? It'll certainly be interesting to see what her presence does for this challenging situation.
Newfound rune powers
This next scoop reveals that we'll see Jace and Clary in a few scenes together.
They are going to go on a mission that is unsanctioned in an effort to put their newfound rune powers to some sort of test. What will they discover about their powers? It does certainly sound like it will offer some interesting moments. Also, it sounds like they could get into quite a bit of trouble since they don't actually have permission to go on the mission.
Spoiler TV also posted some promotional photos for this episode. They definitely offer some extra visual details about it. A couple of the photos show Clary and Jace on their unsanctioned mission. At one point, these two are seen crawling like they ran into some trouble and were just able to escape it. They're also shown walking through the woods in one of the scenes.
It definitely appears that this mission could offer up quite a bit of danger for them. We'll have to wait and see to be sure.
Pretty relaxed
The other set of photos feature Simon and Maia in attendance at the family dinner. Everyone seems pretty relaxed in these particular scenes. However, it doesn't mean that it will end that way. None of the other characters on the show are featured in any of the photos. So, it looks like this episode will focus mainly on the Jace, Clary, Simon, and Maia storylines.
We do expect Freeform to release a new preview clip for Episode 16 later on tonight. It will definitely reveal extra details about it. So, you'll want to look out for it. It should get shown right after episode 15 wraps up.
Hopefully it'll feature some extra looks at that whole dinner situation and the unsanctioned mission, as well as any other plotlines that may be shown. Lastly, you can can expect to see episode 16 air next Monday night, July 17, 2017 at 7pm central time on Freeform. Stay tuned.
