Taylor answered a fan question on Twitter about Tom and Katie’s marriage, and he didn’t make it sound like the newlyweds are crazy in love.
How Jax planted a seed that there’s trouble in paradise
When a Twitter follower asked Jax what was up with the “Vanderpump Rules” star’s marriage, he didn’t hold back. Jax wrote that his longtime pal Tom Schwartz recently “dipped out of the country.” And to add fuel to the fire—something Jax is very good at doing, by the way—he noted that his pal thought going on an out-of-country poker tour was more important than staying home in L.A.
with his wife.
“Vanderpump Rules” fans know that Jax Taylor isn’t exactly known for giving out reliable information, and he is a definite jokester. But the Hollywood Gossip points out that the newlyweds, whose Lisa Vanderpump-officiated wedding was featured last season on the Bravo reality show, haven’t been photographed together since March. In addition, Tom and Katie rarely mention each other on social media.
Tom and Katie have had a rocky relationship
If there is trouble in paradise, it wouldn’t be a complete shocker to “Vanderpump Rules” viewers. The couple’s wedding, the second featured on the show, almost didn’t have the support of queen bee Vanderpump. According to People, Lisa Vanderpump admitted she wasn’t sure if she should agree to officiate Tom and Katie’s wedding ceremony due to their volatile history together.
In a memorable scene from the Bravo reality show, Lisa said she takes marriage very seriously and was concerned about the couple’s rocky relationship.
Fans may recall that Tom and Katie’s wedding plans hit a major roadblock during a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in New Orleans. It caused enough drama to nearly end the couple’s engagement.
When the couple finally did tie the knot in a gorgeous outside ceremony, they capped things off by bringing a guest along with them on their honeymoon. “Vanderpump Rules” castmate Stassi Schroeder, who also happens to be Jax Taylor’s ex-girlfriend, decided to tag along.
If Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney’s marriage is on the rocks, it would be the second “Vanderpump Rules” marriage to end before it got out of the honeymoon phase. Cast members Scheana and Mike Shay, who wed two years ago on the show, were divorced earlier this year.
