Vietnam moved faster than other countries to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Some people might suspect they over-reacted to the situation. Introducing a hard lockdown before cases mounted up seemed to work for them. In fact, they didn't wait about and quickly closed their border with China. Another step was to quarantine all incoming visitors for 14 days. Schools closed for a time as well. It seems that it worked and they controlled the spread. But their model only seems perfect if a country does not yet have large numbers. The BBC noted that it might be too late for other countries to successfully adopt their model.
