It is only one day left until Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say, “I do.” The happy couple arrived at Windsor Castle on Friday for their final wedding rehearsal on Friday. On Thursday (May 17), the couple held a rehearsal at St. George's Chapel, where Prince William, Catherine Middleton Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte, was also seen rehearsing. Prince George will be the page boy and Princess Charlotte will be a bridesmaid in the bridal party. The royal wedding is expected to be the grandest event of the year.
Prince Charles is expected to play a very special role in the wedding ceremony.
Prince Charles will walk Meghan Markle down the aisle. Traditionally, that role is often the father of the bride’s responsibility, but due to Mr. Markle’s ill-health, he could not attend nor fulfill the traditional role of giving his daughter away at the altar. According to The Guardian, In a statement about the Prince of Wales accompanying Meghan Markle down the aisle, it read, “The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the royal family.”
Thomas Markle Sr. was reported to have heart procedure earlier this week. Though, Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the Duke of Edinburgh, who has been recovering from his hip operation, will attend his grandson’s wedding. Doria Ragland, Meghan Markle’s mother, will be accompanying her daughter in the bridal car.
According to CNN, Meghan Markle’s mother is said to have tea with Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle on Friday (May 18), while final wedding preparations are being made.
Meghan Markle’s controversial family drama
Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made their announcement of the engagement, Markle’s family controversy have been plaguing the couple.
Samantha Markle, half-sister to Meghan Markle, and father, Thomas Markle Sr., have been seeming to be the focal point of all controversy.
Samantha Markle states that in the past, she has raised her half-sister for 12 years, according to The Sun. Though, sources question the authenticity of Samantha Markle’s claims, due to the sisters were raised separately.
E! News reported that the half-sisters had little to no interaction due to they were never raised in the same household. Meghan was raised as an only child.
Samantha Markle has written a novel titled, “The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister,” which is a book that Samantha Markle said was to be taken in “jest.” Samantha Markle states that it has no ties to her sister, Meghan Markle.
Thomas Markle Sr. was seen in April and early May, exercising and getting fitted for a suit for his daughter’s wedding. A picture was also taken that Mr. Markle was sitting in a cafe reading about British culture. On Sunday (May 13), it was revealed by Britain's Daily Mail that the paparazzi shots were staged.
On Monday (May 14), Samantha Markle appeared on a British television show addressing the staged photos of her father and claiming that she (Samantha Markle) is “entirely the culprit.”
True love always finds a way
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to be upset over the current situation. Prince Harry is taking the blame upon himself for he who is and wants to protect his finance from all outside influences, including the paparazzi. Though the two are very much in love, and it goes to show that even the best couple won’t always have the perfect wedding.
