A man punched a woman approximately 39 Times in a Parking Lot and the motive behind the attack remains unclear. New Hampshire police are still looking for the suspect and said suspect has not been identified yet. The whole incident was caught on video and it shows the Victim, an 18-year-old female, walking to her car outside a Planet Fitness gym. The male suspect then approached her and struck her several times using his fists. He also threw her to the ground and kneed her after the punches were thrown.

What went down at the Planet Fitness gym parking lot?

The Rochester Police Department released only a part of the attack and did not say why they did not release the entirety of the surveillance video. The incident took place on Monday, June 12, at around 10 p.m. The police department sent officers to the area where the attack happened after they received a call regarding an assault. The details of the harrowing attack were only recently released, as the police only recently obtained the video showing the attack.

The police noted that the suspect’s face is clearly seen in the video. He has not been identified yet but was described as a white male possibly in his 20s. He wore a white t-shirt, shorts, white sneakers, sunglasses, and a baseball cap during the assault.

Authorities also said he might be driving a light-colored Ford Fusion.

Victim recovers from attack

The victim was seriously injured from the beating. Her injuries were not life-threatening, however, and she has been able to recover. The victim, identified as Erin McCarthy, said that the suspect came up to her and hit her in the back of the head.

She kept asking who the suspect was and why he was hitting her, but he was silent throughout.

It remains unclear if the suspect targeted McCarthy, as police said he waited for her eight-hour shift to end. McCarthy works at Planet Fitness and thinks that the attacker might have been a customer at the gym or someone she might have had an argument with.

She said she did not recognize the suspect since he wore sunglasses and it was already late when she was about to get to her car.

Rochester Police Chief Paul Toussaint said that the attack was unprovoked, violent, and cowardly -- according to Mass Live. He added, "We are urgently seeking the public's help in order to identify this individual and place him under arrest. If you recognize the suspect, please call. The public is our eyes and ears."

Anyone with information is urged to call Officer Frank Porfido at 603-330-7128. They can also send an anonymous tip through CRIMES (274637). A cash reward will be given to anyone that provides information that leads to the suspect's arrest.
