It began with the Women's March on Washington on January 21, 2017, a peaceful protest that spread globally as thousands of people hit the streets denouncing the advocated legislation and policies from the Trump Administration which aimed to pulverize #human rights, women's rights, immigration reform, healthcare reform, reproductive rights and many other rights Americans had fought so hard to achieve. Despite the worldwide outrage, the President initiated laws aimed to set the country back about 70 years with a swipe of his pen.

What followed was several months of tumultuous uproar and disarray as the new Administration passed alarming Executive Orders attacking the country's foundation, including but not limited to the violation of indigenous treaties with the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline (which according to news articles, suffered an estimated 84-gallon spill of crude oil in South Dakota this April); the banning of Muslims entering the United States (later revoked by several Federal judges), and the dismantlement of all the environmental regulations implemented by President Obama placed to vigorously fight climate change/global warming.

Countless violations

And, if that is not enough, Americans also noticed the countless of violations to the United States Constitution when the Administration disregarded the Emoluments Clause by allowing China to brand dozens of valuable Trump trademarks; the Administration also established Trump Tower leases in foreign governments (according to Eric Goode, a New York hotel and restaurant owner who filed a lawsuit against the President); and conducted business meetings with foreign diplomats and heads of state at the Trump Tower in Washington D.C., Mar-a-Lago in Florida, and the Trump Tower in New York.

Americans also noticed the violation of Article 1, Section 8, Clause 11 of the U.S. Constitution which grants Congress the power to declare war and grants the President of the United States the power to direct the military AFTER the Congressional declaration has been made.

This includes any military action that may be construed by foreign powers as an aggressive move from the United States. Thus, the U.S. military airstrike on Syria.

Another addition to the so incredibly growing pot was the violation of the Federal 5, U.S. Code 3110-Employment of Relatives & Restrictions law which states that "a public official may not appoint, employ, promote, advance, or advocate for appointment...any individual who is a relative of the public official".

The majority of the Trump family now occupy government positions despite not being qualified to do the job.

Enough is enough

Perhaps, the breach of Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution was the one that broke the camel's back. The majority of Americans who are tired of the Administration's interference with the nation's democracy have now come together to #call for impeachment.

The Administration's continuous adherence, aid, and comfort of Vladimir Putin despite evidence that Russia hacked the 2016 Presidential Election is not only reprehensible but it is treason.

And with the firing of FBI Director, James Comey, who was heading the investigation of the Administration's ties to Russia, America's morale has reached its new low. With the Administration's reproach of the media, facts, and science, scientists also took to the streets in Washington (March for Science) on April 22 to bring attention to the importance of scientific research around the world. On Sunday, July 2nd, the #Impeachment March Los Angeles will follow the path of the previous protests in hopes the movement will attract global support.

Just like the Women's March, the Impeachment March will demand that Congress no longer sit back but listen to the voice of the American people and remove the President from the White House. Perhaps there is no better time than now to seek refuge in the words of Mr. Spock, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one".
