The smartphone brand based in Shenzhen has released several smartphones this year. Earlier this month the company unveiled the UMIDIGI A1 Pro. The company unveiled newer models UMIDIGI Z2/Z2 between April 18 to 21 at the Global Sources Mobile Electronics Fair in Hong Kong.

The Global Sources Mobile electronics Fair included 2,800 booths. Everything from devices, VR and AR, wearables and accessories were exhibited.

The company was present at Booth 7k02 and revealed its flagship model. In the subsequent sections, I will visit the details and specs around these latest models.

UMIDIGI Z2/Z2 Pro specs and highlights

Diving into the features, the Z2 model includes the top-notch Helio P60Soc flagship chip. According to the company, this device was available for customers to have a first hands-on look at the conference.

According to a Gazette Review, the Helio P60 is a flagship chipset for the year 2018. In addition, it scored on the Geekbench multi-core score of 5871. Other metrics included 12 threads, a separate and independent APU for artificial intelligence with an image processor Mali-G72 MP3.

As explained by Extreme Tech, the P60 combines four Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex A53 cores. In other words, it can improve gaming performance up to 70 percent in comparison to its predecessor.

The Helio AI chip was previously shown at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

The smartphone design in the company's YouTube video showcased a design similarity to its competitor.

Specifically, the UMIDIGI Z2/Z2 Pro is quite similar to an iPhone X screen display. What it does enhance is the immersive and visual experience it brings thanks to its large screen.

Like most of its smartphone product line, the UMIDIGI's are Android-based systems. This model comes optimized with Android 8.1 Oreo.
