Samsung announced its Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear Sport in late August. The company promised that both smartwatches will be compatible with both iOS and Android mobile devices. However, Samsung’s latest computerized wristwatch is still impossible to pair with an iPhone.

SamMobile reported that Samsung’s Gear Fit2 Pro and Gear Sport will still not work with any iPhone for the reason that Apple has yet to approve the application that would allow the smartwatches to pair with an iPhone. It’s already been more than two weeks since the South Korean tech company made the Gear Fit2 Pro available on the market, so owners of the device are now expressing their regret over the fact that they still can’t utilize the smartwatch with their iPhone.

Several owners of the wearable are showing their dismay by commenting in Samsung's online forums.

App needs approval

A moderator for the tech firm’s online forums has revealed that the issue emerged from the fact that the Cupertino-based tech company has yet to approve the app for Samsung’s new smartwatch. But, the message of the moderator was deleted. In spite that, the message already provided owners a clear idea why the smartwatch is still not compatible with their iPhone.

An app needs to follow Apple’s strict policies if it wants to be approved. There’s a possibility that there were some problems with the app for the Gear Fit2 Pro that have prevented the tech company from approving it.

Apple is stalling the app’s approval

There’s also a possibility that Apple is stalling the app’s approval for the reason that the Gear Fit2 Pro is a competitor of the firm’s wearables. Whatever may be Apple’s reason, it is now clear that it would take some time for owners to use the wearable with their iPhones. After all, as reported by PhoneArena, it took nearly a year before the Gear Fit 2, Gear S2 and S3 became compatible with Apple devices.

For owners who want to make the most out of Samsung’s latest smartwatch, the best alternative is to possess an Android mobile device. Not only will this allow the owners to access all of Gear Fit2 Pro or Gear Sport’s features, it will also spare the owners from waiting for the compatibility support.

The Gear Fit2 Pro is an advanced GPS computerized wristwatch.

The wearable features swim and heart rate monitoring technology. The smartwatch also features a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display, showing its users all notifications as well as real-time updates. On the other hand, the Gear Sport comes along with a 1.2-inch circular Super AMOLED display.
