Contrary to earlier reports about the upcoming NVIDIA graphics card, Geforce Gtx 1070 Ti was, in fact, designed to be overclocked. The latest addition to the GeForce 10 lineup is said to provide powerful gaming performance that is closer to a full-fledged GeForce GTX 1080 rather than its non-Ti version.
The Pascal architecture-based graphics card is now available for pre-order (free shipping) for a suggested retail price of $449 (available at NVIDIA and partner stores by November 2).
This is $100 cheaper than GeForce GTX 1080 and is the same price of the non-Ti version during its launch.
Overclocking monster
NVIDIA stated that they “designed the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti to be an overclocking monster with plenty of headroom for gamers to crank up the clock speeds.” In addition to tons of GTX 1080 features, NVIDIA teased that their partner AIB resellers “have built cards with thermals and power supplies that allow gamers to push performance way past stock specifications.”
One good example is EVGA's Precision XOC / OC Scanner X. By using this feature, it will be easier for gamers and PC enthusiasts to adjust and change the clock speed settings.
The prices of the four EVGA (4) GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics cards range from $469.99 to $529.99 depending on the integrated cooling system.
According to PC World, NVIDIA has equipped GTX 1070 Ti "with the same vapor chamber cooling and five-phase dual-FET power design as the GTX 1080 Founders Edition." This could lead to reaching almost the same percentage of overclocking performance.
Powerful specifications
NVIDIA also confirmed earlier reports that the latest GeForce 10 graphics card will have a total of 2432 Stream Processor (CUDA Cores). This means that only one SM is disabled out of the maximum 20 – this translates to just 128 CUDA Cores less than GeForce GTX 1080.
In addition, it has the same base clock speed like that of GTX 1080 (1607MHz) and the same boost clock speed of its predecessor (1683MHz).
The graphics card’s RAM is 8GB GDDR5 running at 8Gbps speed with 256GB/s memory bandwidth. Living up to the expectations, it is said to have twice the power of GeForce GTX 970.
Also, the latest GeForce 10 graphics card supports different NVIDIA technology platforms, namely: Simultaneous Multi-Projection, VR Ready, Ansel Ready, SLI Ready (SLI HB Bridge Supported), G-Sync Ready, Gamestream Ready, 1Microsoft DirectX and Vulkan API Ready. GTX 1070 Ti also supports GPU Boost 3.0. The base power (TDP) of the standard graphics card is set at 180W using 8-pin power connector.
