nokia 9 is said to be a high-end smartphone with a lot of similarities to its predecessor, the Nokia 8. The Nokia 9 is also expected to have the same dual-lens Zeiss camera, however, there have been claims that the new device will have better a camera module than the previous generation. The smartphone was recently tipped in a GeekBench listing and the smartphone's design was leaked. The latest renders show off the front and rear glass panel of the forthcoming handset.
The leaked image of the flagship
The alleged device was leaked in an image posted on Chinese social media platform, Baidu.
The image shows the device will feature a 3D glass body which means it could have support for wireless charging. The image also reveals that the device will boast a vertically placed dual camera setup and will house a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel. In the renders, the device can be seen in the Copper Gold color.
Speculated specs and features of the phone
It is expected to sport dual Zeiss camera sensors. The company can also use the IMX 258 sensor that comprises of RGB and monochrome lens, just like the Nokia 8. According to wccftech, the smartphone will come with a 5.46-inch Amoled display with a curved glass, as seen on its predecessor. According to IBTimes, The Nokia 9 is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or Snapdragon 845 processor paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM alongside 128GB of internal storage.
The connectivity options will include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot.
A Twitter user also posted a picture of the device that suggests the Nokia 9 will flaunt a nearly bezel-less design and is also rumored to be an OLED, following the current trend of the industry. It is believed that the device will be IP68 certified and might incorporate an iris scanner.
It will also have support for quick charge, while a 3900mAh battery is said to fuel the smartphone. The phone could also mark the USB-C Type for fast data transfer and fast charging.
According to a leak from NokiaPowerUser, the upcoming smartphone will retail at $850, in contrast to the Nokia 8 which was priced at around $700.
The release date of the alleged Nokia 9 is still unknown, but a lot of speculations suggest that the company will unveil the device in December this year. The phone will compete with iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 in the high-end smartphone market. Overall, the phone is expected to be highly competitive.
