nokia 7 was first rumored to launch in March this year. The HMD Global-backed decided to foray back into the smartphone market with its brand new line-up. Different handsets targeted different markets i.e. entry-level, mid-range and high-end. Nokia 7 can properly be identified as a mid-ranger. According to a report by Tech Radar, the handset has finally been unveiled. The device is available for sale, exclusively in the Chinese market. Nokia hasn’t offered any confirmation on whether the smartphone will make its way to other markets too.

Specs and features details

As for the specifications, the smartphone features a 5.2-inch full HD display. Nokia 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 system-on-chip. On the storage front, the handset offers 6GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal memory. Design-wise, the handset is pretty decent as it is covered with aluminum and packs 3D curved glass edges. Nokia has integrated a feature from its high-end 8 smartphones into this handset, as it arrives with the special “Bothie” feature. This allows for the camera to capture pictures in special studio-like mode. The rear camera packs a 16-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Meanwhile, the front camera includes a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Users can take pictures/videos from the front/rear cameras at the same time.

The camera system is powered by Carl Zeiss’ official OZO technology. Thanks to this, individuals can record 360-degree sound in their smartphones itself. Nokia 7 is home to a decent 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Nokia has promised that they will deploy the latest Android Oreo system soon.

The smartphone is, therefore, upgradable to Oreo when it launches towards the end of this year (as speculated by Tech Radar). When it comes to pricing, the smartphone costs around $250. The Finnish tech giant has already made the handset available for pre-order. According to the announcement made by them, the smartphone is supposed to launch on Tuesday, October 24.

For example, the device will be powered by Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip and carry a dual rear camera setup. But there will be many key differences between the two.
