The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a phablet designed and developed by Samsung Electronics. It was released on August 23, 2017, and since then became popular. The Note 8 has received the highest number of preorders in the Note series by Samsung. Its predecessor, the Note 7 had issues with safety and had to be recalled by the company. Samsung has sustained major losses from the callback of Note 7s. However, with the release of Note 8, they have redeemed themselves from the previous mishap by producing an exceptional smartphone.

The specifications of Note 8 are top-notch

The phone model would not receive the hype if it did not have the specs to back it up. Aside from the seamless design, the processor and the memory are no joke. It is either powered by Exynos 8895 or Snapdragon 835 octa-core processors. The handset boasts a 6GB RAM and an expandable memory. The operating system is Android Nougat. The phone also comes with a voice assistant called Bixby. However, even with these specs, one of the most important parts of a phone is their Camera. The Galaxy Note 8 is the first phone from Samsung to feature a dual-lens camera. The dual-camera comes with a 12 MP telephoto lens and a 12MP wide-angle lens. Both the lenses have been equipped with optical image stabilization.

The camera is capable of 10x digital zoom and 2x optical zoom.

The ratings

DxOMark, a website known for comparing smartphone and other cameras have rated Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as the best camera zoom out of all the smartphones they have tried. The best overall camera is tied between Apple's iPhone 8 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with a rating of 94.

The model has surpassed the ratings of Google's Pixel and Pixel XL that were released on 2016. Although they could not beat the record of Apple's iPhone 8 Plus in terms of the camera as a whole, they actually beat them in terms of the zoom function.

According to Android Headlines, the phone took amazing pictures that gave vivid and bold colors without sacrificing details.

The site DxOMark also praised the Bokeh effects of the camera as well as its ability to take great pictures in low-light. The site mentioned plenty of good aspects of the camera but the highlight definitely lies in the phone's zoom. Not all smartphones have excellent zooming capabilities. Thus, they have augmented what is lacking (zoom) in most phone cameras that can't deliver as well as the Note 8's camera zoom.
