Hmd Global is rumored to be working on another high-end smartphone called nokia 9. Alleged images of the device’s rear panel have now surfaced online. According to a report by Nokia Power User, the leak reveals a 3D glass panel on the backside. This has led many to believe that Nokia might integrate wireless charging technology into its next flagship offering. The report also suggests that the device might come with OLED display technology.

The speculated specs and features

HMD Global-backed Nokia forayed into the smartphone industry with a number of devices like Nokia 8 and Nokia 3.

While the first three fell in the mid-range category, the last one competed with premium flagships. The firm is now expected to expand its high-end smartphones’ portfolio. Sources close to the matter also state that Nokia 9 will pack a dual camera module on its rear panel, which will be powered by Carl Zeiss technology. The device’s camera – in comparison to Nokia 8 – is speculated to receive a major boost. Storage wise, Nokia will probably offer two options – 6GB and 8GB of RAM. This will further be accompanied with a 128GB of inbuilt memory option. The smartphone is further expected to come included with IP68 certification, which makes it both dust and water resistant. For security purposes, the handset might feature an Iris scanner.

The fingerprint scanner will be placed on the rear panel, right next to the camera module.

The front-facing camera will also pack a 12-megapixel sensor. Details regarding its release date and price are yet to show up online.
