Hmd Global forayed into the smartphone industry this year. Their partnership with nokia turned out to be fruitful. They began the year by reviving the iconic Nokia 3310 feature phone. Following which, the company targeted the mid-range category by introducing Nokia 3, 5 and 6 smartphones. Just recently, Nokia got done with the launch of its high-end 8 smartphones. Now, the company is speculated to be working towards introducing a high-end Nokia 9 along with an entry-level Nokia 2 smartphone. As far as Nokia 2 is concerned, the handset was recently spotted on the official FCC website.

According to a report by Gadgets 360, since the smartphone has been spotted on the official FCC website, it is safe to assume that the device is pretty close to its official launch. Thanks to the spotting, complete details about the handset have also been revealed. It appears that Nokia 2’s main highlight will be its massive 4,000mAh battery.

The device spotted online

The device has been spotted online before as well. Previously, Nokia 2 had passed through the benchmarking website, Geekbench. According to a report by Tech Radar, alleged images of the smartphone has shown up online in July this year. It stood next to its sibling Nokia 3 and shared a lot of similarities with it. The prolific leaker, Roland Quandt now claims that Nokia 2 is going to house a massive 4,000mAh battery.

It is interesting to note that Nokia hasn’t packed its smartphone with such a big battery capacity before. It is worth noting that even the company’s flagship offerings (Nokia 8 and speculated Nokia 9) do not carry such a massive battery capacity. Finnish giant would choose to integrate the massive battery in its entry-level handset.

If this turns out to be true, the handset would last for a much longer time than one can imagine.

Here are the specs and features

Nokia 2 was spotted on bench-marking website Geekbench as well. On the basis of the information posted on the website, it is safe to assume that the handset will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset (clocked at 1.27GHz).

In the storage department, the smartphone will offer 1GB of RAM along with 64GB of ROM option. On the display front, the handset features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1,280 pixels resolution. It will probably run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. The pricing details of the handset haven’t been predicted by anyone as yet, stay tuned for more tech updates.
