LG has officially announced its V30 Android smartphone, giving Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 a tough competitor ahead of the holiday season. Although Samsung’s latest smartphone comes along with stunning specs and features, LG’s new handset is also a tough contender.

Processors of the smartphones

There’s no competition when it comes to LG V30 and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones’ processors. Both mobile devices have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. However, V30 is LG’s first mobile device that features the Snapdragon 835 processor, as pointed out by Android Headlines.

It is noteworthy that the Snapdragon 835 chipset is 25 percent less power and 35 percent smaller compared to its predecessor. The processor is also capable of providing cutting-edge camera capability, ultra-fast download speeds, longer battery life as well as high-quality virtual reality and AR experiences.

Camera front

When it comes to the camera department, the competition between LG V30 and Galaxy Note 8 is pretty tight, especially as Samsung has featured a dual camera setup in its new phablet. Nonetheless, LG has already grasped this technology, so it is very likely that its latest mobile device will dominate in this department.

The LG V30 features an impressive dual-camera system. The main rear camera of LG V30 Features a 16MP f/1.6 aperture with glass lens, ZDNet reported.

The f/1.6 aperture of the smartphone is the largest aperture on the market, which would make the rear camera setup of the device capable of taking good quality images in low-light conditions.

Galaxy Note 8’s dual-camera setup, on the other hand, is composed of two 12MP sensors. One sensor is telephoto, while the other is wide angle.

The company claimed that Note 8’s rear cameras have better Portrait Mode and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) compared to the iPhone 7 Plus.

The LG V30 smartphone will come along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device will run on the Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system out of the box. The handset features IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

In terms of RAM capacity, the mobile device features a 4GB, while its built-in storage options are offered with either a 64GB or a 128GB.

The LG V30 is equipped with a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, a Hi-Fi DAC and a USB Type-C port. The handset will be available in different color options - Lavender Violet 2, Moroccan Blue, Cloud Silver and Aurora Black.
