PIXEL 2 is one of the most anticipated devices of 2017. The company is ready to make an entry in the high-end smartphone category again. Google started sending out press invites for a launch event, scheduled to take place on October 4. According to a report by Tech Radar, it is believed that the search giant will finally unveil its Pixel 2 line-up. The report states that the company also published a video, which contains a hint that indicates that same date. It is worth noting that phone will compete with iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8.
The video consists of smartphones showcasing a list of common complaints posted by users.
The company is seen responding to those complaints on the device’s display. Even though the company did not specify that the smartphone included in the video is its Pixel 2, its distinctive features reveal something else altogether.
A better display
Google is rumored to pack a better – perhaps, a much larger display with Pixel 2 and XL 2 smartphones. The firm (at first) was expected to follow the mainstream trend and adapt the bezel-less design for its front panel. But soon, these rumors were refuted by leading speculations and predictions. The search giant will probably carry the same design as the original Pixel smartphone forward. If this turns out to be true, then it will be pretty disappointing.
However, the company will probably opt for a larger screen display. The handset will probably include the IP68 certification. This will make the handset both, dust and waterproof. Its competitors like Moto Z2 Force, which includes a special shatterproof capability, requires a worthy fight.
3.5mm headphone jack
Google’s Pixel 2 and XL 2 smartphones will carry the 3.5mm headphone jack.
The company was initially expected to eliminate the 3.5mm headphone jack, therefore, following Apple’s footsteps. But no such thing will be taking place. Since they are not going to pack up the handsets with a bezel-less display, there is no need for the elimination of this connectivity feature.
Google Assistant
It is important that smartphones carry their version of virtual assistants these days.
Samsung products come packed with Bixby, while Apple devices feature Siri. Likewise, Google’s Pixel line-up will be powered by its Assistant voice assistant. Performing functions gets a whole lot easy. One is only required to ensure the functionality through voice commands.
