Apple is known to launch newer generations of its flagship iPhone between the months of August and October. The firm has begun sending out press invites for an event on 12 September at Steve Jobs Theatre (Cupertino), presumed to be for the launch of its iPhone 8. They will apparently be unveiling not one, but three iPhone devices: iPhone 8, 7S and 7S Plus. Along with this, the firm is also expected to take the wraps off the third-gen LTE-ready Watch and a 4K TV. The phone might be available in the US by the end of the September.

Design of the phone

The company plans on bringing about a massive change in iPhone 8’s design this year. Alleged mock-ups of the handset have revealed a completely bezel-less front panel. This could also mean that Apple is doing away with its physical home button, according to a report by Forbes. The facial recognition technology will apparently replace the fingerprint scanner.

The company is speculated to opt for LED over LCD technology. The rear panel, on the other hand, will sport a dual camera module instead.

The smartphone will probably feature a 5.8-inch screen, accompanied by the 7.5W Qi Wireless charging technology. In the storage department, the handset will boast of 3GB of RAM and will arrive in three options: 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that SanDisk, Toshiba, and Samsung are in charge for the production of these chips. Apple is also planning on integrating iPhone 8 with a gesture control ability. They will even be seen bringing 3D-sensor capability with the handset, which will revolutionize the smartphone experience through the use of the Augmented Reality (AR) technology. There will be a dual rear camera setup with support for “SmartCam” mode, ensuring automatic image optimization. On the power front, the smartphone will run on iOS 11 – which is set to arrive with exciting new updates. Since the device will sport A11 chipset, the overall output will seemingly improve.

Price of the device

Given the number of modern-day features iPhone 8 is expected to equip, its price will surely be hefty. Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted the device’s price to be around $1,000. He also claims that Apple won’t be launching the “Rose Gold” color variant with iPhone 8. Therefore, the handset will only arrive in Gold, Black, and Silver color variants. The company is expected to delay the smartphone launch for sale this time, due to technical miscalculations. The first batch will probably hit the markets by mid-October, a Recode report reads.
