Apple Inc. officially rolled out its latest iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones with a powerful new A11 Bionic chipset. DxO Labs, the leading source of handset’s image quality measurements and ratings, claimed that the 8 Plus variant has the best mobile device camera the company has ever tested.
DxO Labs ranked the iPhone 8 Plus smartphone first with a score of 94, followed by the smaller variant with a score of 92. The new Apple smartphones beat out HTC U11 and Google Pixel’s DxOMark Mobile score of 90 points.
The scores of DxO Labs are highly regarded in the smartphone universe.
According to MacRumors, the software company has examined more than 10,000 cameras.
DxO LAbs made it known that both the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones are capable of taking a better high dynamic range (HDR) images compared to its predecessors. The HDR performance of Apple’s latest handsets could match the HDR plus of Google’s Pixel and Pixel XL mobile devices.
Regarding the low light performance of the iPhone 8 Plus, the software company stated that the device is capable of generating photos with accurate exposure. The handset can also produce good images when utilizing its flash.
Handset’s camera improvements
Matthew Panzarino of Tech Crunch claimed that the camera improvements of Apple’s latest generation of iPhones could be the best reason to purchase the devices.
Panzarino stated that there’s no handset manufacturer that takes it as far as the Cupertino based tech titan does.
However, Apple rolled out its latest-gen iPhones without the headphone jack to pave the way for the wireless headphones. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will both come along with a wireless charging technology. Users will have to charge the mobile devices by using the Qi-compatible charging pads.
Smartphone’s durability test
Meanwhile, JerryRigEverything (a YouTube channel that features handset’s durability tests and teardown videos) has conducted Apple iPhone 8’s intense tests, which include bending, heat, and scratch. It appears that Apple’s latest handset is an impressively robust smartphone.
The iPhone 8 does an impressive job surviving several scratch tests and the mobile device even manages to remain solid despite being rubbed with a razor blade.
Nonetheless, the smartphone’s sapphire lens starts to display minor scratches when the YouTuber rubbed it with a razor. According to JerryRigEverything, the tech company has done a good job with the sides of the smartphone.
