Xiaomi recently announced its MIUI 9 software system. The Chinese technology giant seems prepared to release the latest software for its smartphones. The company took to the online platform to make it official that they are going to roll out the MIUI 9 for two of its smartphones -- the Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X. The official release will reportedly take place on August 11th. It is interesting to note that the Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X are among the first Xiaomi smartphones to receive the latest version of MIUI.

Updates are coming soon

It only makes sense for the company to launch the update for these smartphones, as they are the company’s flagship devices and demand for which are high-rising.

The company first took the wraps off its latest MIUI update sometime earlier last week at an event held in Beijing, China. The Chinese electronics company at that time had made it official that Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X along with its Mi 5Xm smartphone is expected to receive the latest update by August 7th at the very least. However, that clearly did not take place, and the official roll-out has been postponed to August 11th, for reasons unknown.

Other updates by the company

At the same event held in Beijing, China, the company also made another announcement, wherein they suggested that the next batch of roll-outs of its latest update will eventually take place two weeks after the completion of the first batch. The second phase will probably cover up all the smartphones that have been left out, including the Xiaomi Mi Mix, Mi Note, Mi Note 2 and other Mi-series devices.

The final phase of the MIUI 9 is expected to take place towards the beginning of September, wherein many smartphones including the Mi 1, Mi 1S and Mi 2A are expected to receive the update. The smartphone manufacturer hasn’t made any details regarding when the update will be deployed worldwide, available for public access as of yet.

According to the company, their latest MIUI 9 comes packed with a major upgrade in comparison to its predecessor, which was made available for use sometime last year. One of the major highlights of its latest update is the fact that it comes with a completely revamped user interface, which also features a Smart App launcher, that allows users to access apps at a speedier rate, simply through the use of a shortcut.
