Sony’s upcoming Xperia XZ1 smartphone has once again surfaced online. The 360-degree 3D render video of the handset showcased the familiar omni-balance design of the tech company’s current devices. Instead of joining the upcoming bezel-less handsets, the Xperia XZ1 continue to sport the company’s equilibrium handset design.
The leak of the Sony Xperia XZ1 Android smartphone seems to claim that the device would arrive with a USB Type-C port as well as a SIM card slot. Based on the render, the volume buttons, dedicated camera button, and power button are all located on the right side of the smartphone.
Camera specs of the device
The new handset will be thinner compared to the previous XZ variants, and it comes along with a small bump at the rear camera. The LED flash and sensors are lined up next to the device’s camera. Unfortunately, according to 9to5 Google, the Sony Xperia XZ1 will arrive without a dual-camera setup. However, the device will be equipped with a 19MP sensor with a 4K video recording capability and a 12MP front-facing camera. The mobile device is also expected to come with a 960fps slow-motion video.
Recently, Slash Leaks provided the smartphone’s metal back panel live images, revealing a large hole for the sensors and flash. The leaked photos, as well as the renders, seem to be a match, which could indicate that this design is accurate.
Specs of the smartphone
In terms of specs, the recent GFXBench spec sheet made it known that the upcoming smartphone will run on Android 8.0 operating system. As reported by Android Central, the handset will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 system on-chip (SoC), coupled with a 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage, expandable through microSD card.
The handset will be equipped with a 3,000mAh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the handset will further come packed with a Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS and a USB Type-C. It appears that the tech company might keep the 3.5mm headphone jack, which can be spotted in the leaked images. The Xperia XZ1 smartphone will sport a 5.2-inch HDR display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass.
The device also has an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The mobile device will be available in four-color options - Deep pink, Platinum, Mineral black and Forest blue.
The smartphone is expected to make an appearance at the IFA 2017 event next month.
