Sony's annual press conference at the IFA event will transpire on August 31, and the Japanese tech company will roll out three new mobile devices during the event. Sony will launch the Xperia XZ1, XZ1 Compact, and Xperia X1 smartphones. However, live images of the Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact smartphones have surfaced online revealing its specs and design.

The new render reveals Sony’s new handsets in its full glory. Each handset has two images and suggests a really thick bezel at the top and bottom of the mobile devices. According to Tech Radar, the photos listed some specs that suggest the Xperia XZ1 will resemble its predecessor.

According to India Today, a Polish site named Komp.tech leaked the specs of both Xperia XZ1 and XZ1 Compact. The XZ1 has a model number G8341, while the XZ1 Compact has a model number G8441.

According to the GeekBench listing, the Sony Xperia XZ1 is expected to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 system on chip (SoC) with Adreno 540 GPU, paired with a 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of onboard storage. The smartphone will arrive with a 5.1-inch FHD display, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass.

On the camera front, the handset will boast a 19MP rear camera as well as a 13MP front camera with 4K Video support. The rear camera is now located at the center of the device to keep things symmetrical on the back.

The device also has IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

Smartphone’s color options

The mobile device is further expected to come with a non-removable Li-Ion 3000mAh battery. The XZ1 smartphone will arrive in four color variants - Moonlight Blue, Warm Silver, Venus Pink and Black. The smartphone will be equipped with a Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, USB Type-C, Quick Charge 3.0 and a fingerprint sensor.

Meanwhile, the Xperia XZ1 Compact handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with a 4GB of RAM and a 32GB of internal storage. The Compact variant will come with a 4.6-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. The front and rear snapper of the device will have an 8MP. The GeekBench listing reveals that the handset scored 6232 points in multi-core test and 1834 points in the single-core test.

However, the Compact will be available with a smaller battery than an XZ1 smartphone.

Prices of the mobile devices

The two smartphones will run on Android 8.0 operating system. The XZ1 smartphone is expected to have a $859 price tag, while the Compact will cost $737.
