The OnePlus 5 Android smartphone has faced a couple of issues with failed 911 calls and its jelly scrolling display, but the issues did not stop the OnePlus company from carrying new plans for the handset. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has teased on its official Facebook page that something new is on the way, which is expected to be the smartphone’s new color variant.

Smartphone’s third color option

The Chinese phone maker teased smartphone enthusiasts on Facebook that its flagship handset will soon have something new. The tech giant did not indicate what exactly it is going to be, but it did share an image that hints at the flagship handset’s new color option.

However, the image showed the handset in slate gray and midnight black, but the device’s third outline has no color. As slate gray and midnight black color variants look sleek, it would make sense for the tech company to introduce a third color option to mix things up.

At the moment, the third color option for the mobile device is being speculated to have a lighter shade. Both colors of the OnePlus 5 smartphone are already dark, so the new color of the handset would possibly be on the opposite side of the spectrum.

Nonetheless, Android Authority pointed out that even though the company didn’t hint as to what the third color of the smartphone could be, there are three possibilities. Just a month before the company revealed the OnePlus 5, the tech giant hit on its Twitter account to ask fans about what colors they want for the handset.

The company gave fans four color options, pink/blue gradient, red, gold and black. As the black color is available, the choices are with the pink/blue gradient, red and gold.

OxygenOS 4.5.7 update

Meanwhile, several users pointed out the lack of image stabilization of the mobile device while recording 4K resolution videos. But, the Chinese tech giant has rolled out the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update, which comes along with an electronic image stabilization (EIS).

The OxygenOS 4.5.7 update’s EIS feature for 4K recording will provide image stabilization preventing users from recording shaky footages. However, the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update is now rolling out to OnePlus 5 users in a phased manner. According to Gadgets 360, the update also brings bug fixes, new features, and optimizations.

Additionally, the update for the OnePlus 5 comes with the July security patch and the latest Google Mobile Services (GMS). The tech giant made it known that the update will optimize the standby battery life, automatic backlight adjustments, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
