Rumors and speculations regarding HMD Global-backed nokia’s 8 high-end smartphones have been around for a very long time. Different reports have suggested different things about the flagship smartphone. The Finland-based technology giant is speculated to introduce its Nokia 8 smartphone sometime next week. Let’s take a final look at what can be expected from the upcoming smartphone ahead of its launch.

Specs and features

According to a report published by TechRadar, the upcoming Nokia 8 smartphone is expected to pack a 5.3-inch QHD edge-to-edge display, complimented with a 2.5D curved glass as well.

The smartphone probably sports a slim metal shell, delivering a sophisticated look to the smartphone users. Apart from this, the smartphone is going to pack curvy, rounded edges – just like most of the leading Nokia-branded smartphones sport. It seems like the company will also be giving into the mainstream norm of packing up a dual rear camera setup with two 13-megapixel sensors, branded with the official Carl Zeiss technology alongside all the other features.

Nokia was highly rumored to integrate the sought-after under-the-display fingerprint scanner along with its Nokia 8 smartphone; however, it seems like the company won’t be doing the same. Instead, the smartphone will come equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the rear panel of the smartphone.

The device will also be packing power and volume buttons on the sides of the device. If this turns out to be true, then Nokia 8 will very much be like other leading flagship smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 and HTC U11.

Release on August, 16

Apart from this, Nokia 8 – which is expected to launch on August 16th – is also apparently going to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip processor.

On the storage front, the device will probably offer 4GB of RAM alongside 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will also come in a special 6GB RAM/128GB internal storage option. Users will most probably have the option of expanding their smartphone storage via the device’s microSD card-slot option if they prefer. The smartphone is expected to Run on the latest Android Nougat operating system.

This comes across as a disappointment as Nokia was rumored to integrate the yet-to-be announced Android O update. Google is expected to officially roll out its Android O update sometime this month. But neither of the two companies have confirmed this news as of yet.
